A Winter Path

I have finally accepted the fact that it is winter. Until this point, I have been clinging to summer or fall type paintings, reluctant to let go.

Winter can be quite beautiful, but difficult to capture in a painting. I painted this walking path scene a few days ago when there was snow on the ground. I'm totally ready to do more winter paintings now, but yesterday and today it has been warm here in Montana and the snow has mostly melted away.
