The Kentucky Derby

The past few weeks have been exciting, we went to Kentucky to see our good friends Carl and Wanda Nafzger win the Kentucky Derby with Street Sense. Carl is the trainer of Street Sense. I blogged about it on my livejournal blog, you can catch up on it here and see many of the photos I took.

We also went to the Preakness in Maryland last weekend, to see Street Sense run in the second jewel of the Triple Crown. He finished second, beaten a few scant inches, so he will not run in the Belmont Stakes.

I am currently working on a self published photo book of Street Sense winning the Kentucky Derby, and it is taking up quite a bit of time each day. I will start posting paintings again soon, I have some Street Sense paintings in the works as well as many plein air landscapes I will be doing this summer here in beautiful Aspen, Colorado.
