This is a 4"x6" painting (currently available on etsy) with one of my favorite splashy watercolor techniques. I painted this using a set of Schminke Horadam Aquarell pan sets, which suits the spontaneous nature of my watercolor paintings. It's so easy to whip out the set and create a small painting in short order. I use Canson Montval 140 lb watercolor paper in 4" x 6" blocks. The combination of the pan set and watercolor block are very portable. In recent years I have realized the importance of simplicity, whether it be in the subject matter of a painting or the art supplies I use. There's only so much room in your life for "stuff", so I focus on simple paintings, simple techniques, and simple supplies.
I mostly shop for my art supplies at Dick Blick.com, they seem to have the best overall selection and prices.

I love the colors in this and the looseness. You captured the calmness of your horses and the gentle eye, very nice!
